About
I am a longtime and multi award-winning essayist, journalist, and poet whose bylines have appeared in many popular and well-known media outlets such as The Atlantic, The Guardian, Politico, Vice, Salon, Science, the New York Daily News, Narratively, the Boston Globe, the Washington Post, and many others. From 2013 to 2015, I was a regular contributing columnist and reporter to the financial news website, The Street. My climate reporting for The Street earned me a fellowship with the Metcalf Institute of Marine & Environmental Reporting. More recently I received a Unicorn Grant from the Media Democracy Center and was a finalist for the national David Carr Award for Investigative Reporting with four other journalists. My first collection of poetry, Swallowing the Stem of Adam's Apple, was released by Unsolicited Press in 2021. I am part of the teaching faculty of Grub Street in Boston, where I instruct workshops on creative nonfiction (essays and memoir) and poetry.
