Psychoanalysts, like others, often deny the reality of their own mortality. This has important ramifications on their clinical work. In this edited book, chapter authors look at the denial of death, the reality of limitations and illness, retirement as a harbinger of death, the death of our patients and the effect of the death of the analyst on her patients.
