About
I am Penelope McNee, affectionately known to those who love me as Mama P. I began writing children's books as a means to occupy my time and mind while on the mend from surgery. I have written since I was a teenager sporadically but hadn't picked up a pen for anything serious in nearly thirty years. The only time I took to write was for work. I have always been a helper; by nature and occupation. I work in law enforcement. The often gloomy and gruesome nature of my job sometimes leaves me feeling skeptical and jaded. I needed to find other ways to bring safety, happiness, and love into the world. I knew that now was the time for me to pick up the pace in my search for my contentment and fulfillment.
Speaking of picking up the pace, I love dogs and Greyhounds are my favorite. My stories involve three dogs; too tall Gordie the Greyhound, gorgeous Gracie the Greyhound in the middle, and my newest love, short sweet Toffee the Terrier. Three Story Dogs to be exact. Our family is a blended brindle family even Papa. All but me have a brindle coat! Each dog has their own story; three different dogs with three different personalities.
Three Story Dogs share tender lessons for children and the adults who read the books to children. The stories embrace dog lovers and all who are proponents of kindness, happiness, and tenacity. The books are focused on good principals, good manners, and family oriented content that all readers can get behind.
