About

Victoria K. Chapman is an author and illustrator of children's picture books. She is a Massachusetts resident and native of New England. Inspired by the forests and natural lands of the places she has lived and visited, her art and stories celebrate nature, animals, and the Earth, but also with a touch of magic and imagination. As the daughter of school teachers, books and stories were always an important part of Victoria’s life.

Victoria believes that an appreciation and respect for the Earth first comes from a simple enjoyment of the outdoors. She wishes to share stories and illustrations that inspire children and grown-ups to appreciate the spirit and magic of the natural world and the Earth’s amazing diversity. She also values mindfulness and a gentle approach to viewing the world and our place within it.

Victoria holds a BFA from the University of Connecticut in illustration. In addition to making books, she teaches art workshops and participates in art exhibitions and events to inspire creativity in her community.

In her spare time, Victoria loves being outdoors gardening, hiking, and spending time with friends and family. She is a musician and songwriter, belly dancer, and a mom to three humans, one dog, and dozens of plants.
