About

Julie Southworth is a disabled writer and poet living in Berkeley, CA. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in SFWP Quarterly, Forum, Milvia Street Art and Literary Journal, and Colossus:Home: An Anthology of Lives In and Out of Place. Julie works as a writing coach at Berkeley City College and is pursuing a Certificate in Writing from UC Berkeley Extension. A Center for Cultural Innovation grant recipient, she writes to make her chronic illnesses—depression, fibromyalgia, epilepsy—and life visible. When untethered from her doctors, Julie plays story games, makes muesli, and slurps noodles with her partner.
