Jamie Gold, CKD, CAPS, MCCWC is a San Diego-based Certified Kitchen Designer, Certified Aging in Place Specialist, Mayo Clinic Certified Wellness Coach, journalist, speaker, industry consultant and author. Since becoming a designer in 2004 after a three-decade career in media and marketing, Jamie has completed hundreds of kitchens and baths for new construction and remodeling projects. She has worked with homeowners, architects, builders and contractors across the country, both in person and remotely. Her design, writing, consulting and speaking focus is the vital link between healthy living and healthy homes. This was one of the reasons cited for her inclusion in an industry 50 Innovators list in 2017.
Jamie’s first book, New Kitchen Ideas That Work, published in 2012 by Taunton Press. Her second Taunton book, New Bathroom Idea Book, published in 2017. Jamie also writes the monthly Trend Spotting section for Kitchen & Bath Design News and regular Home + Garden cover stories for the San Diego Union-Tribune. She is a contributing writer to Forbes.com, and has also written for HuffPost, Fine Homebuilding, New Home Source, BobVila.com, Houzz, HouseLogic and numerous other publications on home design and wellness topics. Her design blog, Gold Notes: Nuggets from the World of Residential Design, has been posting online at her website since 2008.
In addition to writing and designing, Jamie creates seminars and webinars for media, trade and consumer audiences, and consults on product development and trends for housing industry corporations and financial analysis firms.
Her speaking credits include the official National Kitchen & Bath Association Chapter Presenters roster, San Diego NKBA chapter, Central Coast & Valley NKBA Chapter, Tampa Bay Builders Association Remodelers Council, and designer panels at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show and Dwell on Design.
