Severability.
If any provision of this Agreement is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, unenforceable, or void, such decision shall not invalidate or void the remainder of this Agreement. The part or parts of this Agreement held to be invalid, unenforceable, or void shall be deemed to have been deleted from this Agreement.
This section, which appears in most publishers' standard contracts, simply states that even if a particular provision of the contract is invalid for any reason, the rest of the contract remains valid.
