I'm a collaborative and developmental editor who loves shaping words and helping the people who write them. With more than twenty years of experience with both traditional and self-publishing projects, I bring a unique mix of word craft and business savvy, always focusing on the needs and interests of the audience.
I work with both publishers and individual authors on full-length manuscripts in both fiction and nonfiction, as well as cover copy, book proposals and queries. My clients are primarily narrative storytellers (memoir and fiction) and business/nonprofit leaders who are serious about getting their work in front of readers.
I'm also a ghostwriter of almost a dozen nonfiction titles, and the author of two award-winning books: The Author's Guide to Marketing and Walking to the End of the World: A Thousand Miles on the Camino de Santiago.
Before I launched a full-time consulting career, I was a literary agent, and then the director of book marketing for an author services company. Today, in addition to my work with individual authors, I teach regular publishing workshops for writers conferences, festivals, and libraries across the Pacific Northwest.
