About
I am an alumnus of the Watts Writers Workshop, established by Budd Schulberg (“On the Waterfront”, “What Makes Sammy Run?”), in the wake of the Watt’s Rebellion of 1965. I studied under Budd Schulberg, John W. Bloch, Louise Meriwether, Robert Lewin and Harlan Ellison.
I was awarded an NAACP Image Award for “Old Sister”, a television script for the Norman Lear-Alex Haley Tandem Production series titled “Palmerstown”. Elliot Lewis, producer of the “I Love Lucy” series and the producer of the Sears Radio Theater, once called me a “Transcultural Writer” because of my ability to write within the framework of cultures outside of my own .
I had seventeen novels published by Holloway House Publishing before they sold their assets to Kensington Press. I acquired all rights via the Authors Guild to the previously published works. I have a number of interesting books for sale ranging from Urban Fiction, Erotic Fiction, Science-Fiction, Fiction and Pan-African Occult. My books have been used in writing classes in colleges, universities, and prisons. I have 36 published books and am currently writing a new novel to drop at the end of this year.
I was one of the panelists for Professor Justin Gifford presentation at the Modern Language Association Conference at the Hilton, LA Live. Also, I participated in a California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) event, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the “Watts Rebellion”. I have agreed to let this university archive my works.
