About
L.A. Hider Jones (aka real name Lory) is an award-winning author, writer, photographer and public speaker. She is also an artist.
Lory has spent 40-plus year in corporate communications, where she learned her writing and editing skills, and has been published in multiple publications.
What no one taught her—even though she attended multiple writers’ conferences—was how to successfully publish her debut novel while dodging pitfalls. She learned that publishing her novel independent of agents and publishing house meant that she had to take off her creative hat and put on her business hat.
Her first novel, "My Interview with Beethoven," is historical fiction that took her 15 years to write and publish. It has garnered many honors, including Kirkus Reviews' (one of its) best indie novels for 2017, honorable mention from Writer's Digest Self-Published Awards (2018), and the Indie Project, where "My Interview with Beethoven" was selected as best adult ebook in the State of Nevada.
Lory is now finished with her second novel, a romcom fantasy called "Sex Switch" and is looking for representation.
