Shannon Huffman Polson is an author of nonfiction and poetry. Her first book is North of Hope: A Daughter's Arctic Journey (Zondervan, 2015), a memoir of a family tragedy in Arctic, Alaska. Most recently, she published The Grit Factor: Courage, Leadership and Resilience in the Most Male Dominated Organization in the World (Harvard Business Review Press, 2020).

Her creative nonfiction has been published in outlets such as Riverteeth, The Utne Reader (reprint from Ruminate Magazine), The Iowa Review, and more, and has been recognized with honorable mention in multiple literary contests.

Polson continues to work in both creative and narrative leadership nonfiction.
