Dan Campion's poetry books are Calypso, A Playbill for Sunset, and The Mirror Test. He is the author of the monograph Peter De Vries and Surrealism and is a coeditor of Walt Whitman: The Measure of His Song. He has contributed poetry to many magazines, including Able Muse, Light, Measure, The Midwest Quarterly, The North American Review, Poetry, Rolling Stone, and Shenandoah. Dan was born in Oak Park, Illinois, raised in Chicago, and educated at the University of Chicago (AB), the University of Illinois at Chicago (MA), and the University of Iowa (PhD). He has worked for Library Resources, Encyclopaedia Britannica, the Follett Publishing Company, and ACT and taught at the universities of Illinois and Iowa. He is self-employed as a writer and editor in Iowa City, Iowa.
