About
Maddie Lock graduated from the University of South Florida with a BA in English Lit and worked as a freelance journalist before sidetracking into the business world. In 2014, Maddie returned to her first love and published two children's books, one a Royal Palm Award winner. Her essays have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies including Under the Sun, The RavensPerch, Grand Dame Literary, Ruminate, Brevity, Wanderlust-Journal, TulipTree Press, and Unleash Press, for which she won the Editor’s Prize. Her new memoir ILLEGITIMATE will be released in early 2026 by Vine Leaves Press. When not writing, Maddie enjoys cycling, yoga, reading great books, and hanging out with her family.
