About
Clay Houston Shivers grew up in Atlanta but spent every summer at his grandparents’ ranch near Georgetown, Texas, where he first became fascinated by the American frontier, which has a strong influence on his writing. For the last twenty years Clay has worked as an advertising copywriter for several ad agencies as well as working as a freelance copywriter. He’s also worked as a travel writer and photojournalist, with work appearing in The San Francisco Chronicle, The Washington Post, Private Clubs Magazine, and other outlets. When he’s not writing, he is probably exploring the streets of San Francisco, which he calls home. The Desperadoes of Gallows Gulch, his third novel, was published in February.

The Desperadoes of Gallows Gulch
Wild Bill Hickok rides into Silver Vein on a hot and steamy summer day. He's on vacation and there to meet sheriff Curly Barnes--someone of similar celebrity he feels he can complain to. But this is Silver Vein, and for a peaceful town, all sorts of mayhem is afoot. He is sitting in Curly's Saloon when the sheriff learns that the last in a long line of Sheriff Langry's is being held prisoner in his own jail. With Wild Bill along for the ride, no sooner do they free the old sheriff when Curly's good Comanche friend Scout has up and been taken hostage. And that ain't the half of it...
