A renowned scientist is brutally murdered and leaves behind an undecipherable chemical formula. A thousand miles away, deep in the Amazon rainforest, two tourists are consumed by an enormous plant.

Only one man, a botanical chemist, suspects that these horrific attacks are related. He is on the verge of discovering an elusive cure to a deadly genetic disease, when soon bizarre attacks threaten his life. A Brazilian tycoon offers to help, and the chemist and his son are ushered to a remote lab.
