Rachael Warecki’s novel-in-progress, THE SPLIT DECISION, was a finalist in the 2019 CRAFT First Chapters Contest. Her short work has received the Tiferet Prize, semifinalist honors in the American Short(er) Fiction Contest and the Boulevard Creative Nonfiction Contest, and a Best of the Net nomination, and has appeared or is forthcoming in publications including The Masters Review, Hypertext, Midwestern Gothic, Tahoma Literary Review, and elsewhere. She holds an MFA in Fiction from Antioch University Los Angeles and has been selected for residencies at Storyknife (2023), MacDowell (2021), Ragdale (2018), and the Wellstone Center in the Redwoods (2017). She is also a 2021-22 BookEnds Fellow and an emerita member of the leadership team of Women Who Submit, a nation-wide literary organization dedicated to providing women and non-binary writers with the time and resources to submit their work for publication.

By day, Rachael works in public relations and marketing, with extensive experience in media relations and crisis communications. In her spare time, she practices photography, specializing in author portraits.
