John J. Castaneda is an attorney with 36 years of experience representing injured workers in Illinois. During his career, he has briefed and argued many cases before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, various Circuit courts and the Appellate Court of Illinois. He has been selected for 10 years a Super Lawyer, described by the publisher as “a listing of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.” Since 2010, Mr. Castaneda has been listed in Best Lawyers in America, "the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession."

As a writer, Mr. Castaneda served on the University of Minnesota Law & Inequality Journal and newsletter editor of the Workers' Compensation Lawyers' Association for 15 years. He wrote the script "Free Derry" for a dramatic staged reading performed by the Kane County Repertory Theatre in November of 2023. He is currently working on his first novel.

He is also a musician performing acoustic and electric rhythm guitar for the lawyer rock band ICY Bee.
