About
Ellen Weinstein is an illustrator/author and regular contributor to The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Washington Post, Apple, and many others. Ellen has won numerous awards from American Illustration, Communication Arts, the Society of Illustrators, the Society of News Designers, and the Global Art Directors Club. She illustrated the children’s book “Yayoi Kusama: From Here to Infinity” published by MoMA. Ellen is the Author/Illustrator of "Five Stories," publishing by Holiday House April 2024 and "Recipes for Good Luck", published by Chronicle Books in 2018. Ellen’s work is in the permanent collection of the Library of Congress. Ellen is a third-generation New York’s Lower East Side resident, living with her husband and mini-long haired dachshund, Fritzie.

Five Stories
Five children from five different cultures and in five different decades grow up in the same building on the Lower East Side of New York City over the course of a century. I am a third-generation resident of the Lower East Side, and the story begins with my grandmother and continues to the present.
