About

Catherine Klatzker's memoir, "You Will Never Be Normal" was launched in May, 2021, from Stillhouse Press. Her nonfiction stories and essays have appeared in The Intima: A Journal of Narrative Medicine, Atticus Review, Emrys Journal, Tiferet Journal, (2014 nonfiction winner,) Lime Hawk Journal, The Examined Life Journal, and in mental health anthologies from In Fact Books, "Same Time Next Week," and from Lime Hawk Literary Arts Collective, “Parts Unbound.” She was a Ragdale Foundation resident in Lake Forest, Illinois. Catherine is a member of The Authors Guild, AWP, NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness,) and ISSTD, (the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation). Her mental health memoir, "You Will Never Be Normal" is about living and healing with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID).

  • "You Will Never Be Normal" was longlisted for the 2017 Santa Fe Writers Project Literary Awards Program.
  • "You Will Never Be Normal" won two awards from the Spring 2022 BookFest, #TheBookFest: Second Place in Nonfiction > Psychology, and Honorable Mention in Nonfiction > Mental Health.
