About

Hi, I'm Alison! I combine storytelling with strategy to help individuals and organizations boost their brands. I especially enjoy the challenge of taking complex topics and distilling them into engaging communications, frequently working in highly regulated fields like pharma, finance, and tech.

A communications professional with nearly 15 years of experience, I got my start as an international journalist in Berlin, Germany, before transitioning to the communications side of the media industry. After a stint at Booking.com, I took a role as the communications and media relations manager for EFPIA, the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations, in Brussels, Belgium. In 2015, I went on to found my own communications firm, ASK-Communications, with a focus on ghostwriting for time-strapped executives and entrepreneurs.

Since then, I've worked on more than 20 manuscripts, including multiple Amazon bestsellers, and collaborated with high-profile publishers like Forbes Books. Strategic communications remains at the core of what I do. It's important to me that your book does not exist in a vacuum, but that it serves as part of a larger thought leadership strategy. By focusing not only on the literary craft but also the strategic aims of the manuscript, I help you get the most out of your book.

I'm a graduate of Georgetown University's Professional Writing Certificate Program, and also hold a B.A. in English/Cultural Studies from McGill University and an M.A. in Comparative Literature from the Freie University in Berlin, Germany. As a former literature student, I'm a bit of a bookworm and when I'm not writing, I'm usually reading . Suffice to say, I love a good story!
