About
I am an adjunct professor of English at Arizona Christian University and also teach reading and writing skills to at-risk and special needs youth. My poems, articles, and short stories have been featured in journals, anthologies, and magazines around the world including The Write Launch, Allegory Ridge, Back Roads Literary Review, Black Hare Press, Eerie River Press, Poet's Choice, and many others. I have worked extensively with at-risk and special needs youth throughout my career, and my experiences have served as an inspiration to many of my writings. I am also the care taker for my Autistic brother Jeremy. When I am not writing, I am either taking care of my two rescue dogs or finding a good story to read or watch.
I hold a BA in creative writing from the University of Arizona, an MA in Teaching Writing from Johns Hopkins, and I am presently enrolled in the MFA in Fiction program at Drexel University. I have been very fortunate to have the instructors I have had in the passed and still maintain a good relationship with many of my professors to this day.
