About

Brian Robert Moore is a literary translator from New York. His translations from the Italian include A Silence Shared and In Farthest Seas by Lalla Romano (Pushkin Press), Meeting in Positano by Goliarda Sapienza (Other Press), and Verdigris and You, Bleeding Childhood by Michele Mari (And Other Stories). His translation of Verdigris won the 2025 PEN Translation Prize and the 2025 Italian Prose in Translation Award, and his translation of A Silence Shared was awarded as the runner up for the 2024 John Florio Prize and shortlisted for the 2023 Warwick Prize for Women in Translation. His translations and writing have appeared in The New Yorker, Granta, The Nation, Lit Hub, n+1, McSweeney’s Quarterly Concern, The Millions, The Poetry Review, and elsewhere. He received a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts for his translation of Walter Siti's Paradise Overload (forthcoming from Archipelago Books).
