Tim Flood writes characters who shed childhood conditioning to deepen their personal relationships and fulfill their potential. His debut novel, The Flower of Canaan (Histria Books, 2026), follows young Anat in the Bronze Age, who seeks freedom from an arranged marriage to a brutal, hideous man. As Anat risks her life and defies society's rules to escape, she matures into a woman of wisdom and becomes a teacher and healer of women.
In 1999, Tim authored the nonfiction book, Islands Apart: Chronicles of Family Healing, which details teen addiction and his family’s response, alongside the stories of others in similar circumstances. Flood’s short story, "Spaceman," was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Retired from a tech career at Stanford University, Flood lives with his wife near San Francisco. He is working on a sequel to his novel.
