About

Tim Flood writes characters who are shaking off childhood conditioning in favor of deepening their personal relationships. His novel, The debut Flower of Canaan (Histria Books, 2026), explores the roots of society’s troubling beliefs about women. Tim authored the nonfiction book, Islands Apart: Chronicles of Family Healing (1999), which details his son’s addiction and his family’s response, alongside the stories of others in similar circumstances. Flood’s short story, "Spaceman," was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Retired from a tech career at Stanford University, Flood lives with his wife near San Francisco. He is working on a sequel to his novel.
