About
Purveyor of Oxford commas, and aspiring person, Roland Hesmondhalgh's formative years were spent hopping between military bases - both in the United States and beyond - as his family followed his father on postings. His writing style is the brimstone-laced result of being both self-taught and classically trained across different mediums and formats. He's no stranger to dichotomy.
A journalist by trade until his conscience (and Hell-raising) got the best of him, he now writes speculative fiction of all kinds as a creative outlet and for readers' entertainment. Sci-fi, fantasy, contemporary, as long as there are no guide rails, he's content to let the characters and story tell him what comes next.
Featured Work
The Myrmecoleon: Act 2
The second entry in my beloved sci-fi/fantasy series. Equal parts screenplay and literary adventure, I use the series as a creative testbed to explore the concepts of dichotomy and identity while experimenting with action and humor to make the concepts palatable for readers. It's also got a guy named Antlion in it who stabs people. And he's pretty great... in my completely impartial opinion as the author.
