Mia Spangenberg translates fiction, nonfiction and children’s literature from Finnish, Swedish, and German into English. Her recent translations include Marika Maijala’s award-winning picture book Rosie Runs, a Kids' Indie List Pick, and Pirkko Saisio’s cult classic The Red Book of Farewells, for which her translation excerpt was awarded an honorable mention for the American Scandinavian Foundation’s Nadia Christensen Translation Prize in 2021.
