About
Chris is a non-fiction writer and a novelist. He has been writing a series of 26 books on animation entitled, “How To Animate” as well as an upcoming YA fantasy series.
The one question that Chris has a hard time answering is, ”Where are you from?”
He has moved over 30 times in his life so far and he has lived and worked in several countries around the world.
Chris is a self-taught animator who began his career at age 17 and is still working at a furious pace nearly 40 years later.
He spent the first decade of his career in traditional hand-drawn animation, working for some of the biggest studios in the world and drawing iconic characters like Aladdin, Goofy, and Thumbelina.
He ran his own small animation studio in Ireland for 10 years before moving to Canada and entering the world of visual effects for film and television. Although he has worked on a multitude of high-profile films like District 9, A Goofy Movie, and the Twilight Saga, if you ask him what his proudest accomplishment is, he would tell you (with a nerdy glint in his eye) that he has worked on all three of the Stargate series. There’s no better feeling than working on a show that you’re already a huge fan of!
Chris has been a College Professor of Animation at Okanagan College in Kelowna, Canada, and has spent the past 3 years as an animation supervisor and animation director at WildBrain studios on the Snoopy Presents specials for Apple+.
