About

Kayt Sukel is a passionate traveler and science writer that has no problem tackling interesting (and often taboo) subjects spanning love, sex, neuroscience, technology, travel and politics. Her work has appeared in the Atlantic Monthly, New Scientist, USA Today, Pacific Standard, the Washington Post, ISLANDS, Parenting, the Bark, Mechanical Engineering, National Geographic Traveler, and the AARP Bulletin – just to name a few. She has written stories about out-of-body experiences, fMRI orgasms, artificial intelligence in medicine, the stigma of single motherhood and why one should travel to exotic lands with young children.

She is the author of two books: DIRTY MINDS: How Our Brains Influence Love, Sex, and Relationships (Free Press, 2012) (retitled as THIS IS YOUR BRAIN ON SEX: The Science Behind the Search for Love (Simon & Schuster, 2013) in paperback) and THE ART OF RISK: The New Science of Courage, Caution, and Chance (Nat Geo Books, 2016). She is the ghostwriter of several books in the medical/health category and also penned Merck’s book celebrating 130 years in the pharmaceutical industry. She has also collaborated with authors on books about why fulfillment is more important to happiness in terms of living a good life, change management in the modern world, and the links between brain injuries and addiction.
