David Haldane, a former Los Angeles Times staff writer, is an award-winning American journalist, author, columnist, and radio broadcaster with homes in Joshua Tree, California, and Northern Mindanao, Philippines, where he writes a weekly column called "Expat Eye" for The Manila Times. His latest book, Dark Skies: Tales of Turbulence in Paradise, was recently voted #1 on Goodreads' list of Best Memoirs Published in 2025.
