Following the Front: The Dispatches of WWII Correspondent Sidney A. Olson
This book is a compilation of dispatches written by accredited war correspondent Sidney A. Olson, who covered the European Theater of Operations from late 1944 until the close of the war in June 1945. His reports were cabled to Time Inc. but large portions of his writing went unpublished. The book also includes his personal letters and diary entries from this period. His writing captures the human story of WWII in Europe, addressing important themes of combat and strategic bombing, the Allied Forces, the Holocaust, the collapse of the Nazi regime, and the resulting refugee crisis. His eyewitness account of the historic liberation of Dachau will be published in its entirety for the first time.
