I am the President of Planning Consultants Hawaii, a land use, environmental, and community planning consultancy based in Maui, Hawaii. Thus, I "write" for a living. But more importantly, I am a husband and father. Before becoming "serious," I traveled the world "old school," working in Alaska and Japan and spending the dollars on cheap airline tickets, crash pads, and adventures. My debut novel, Cherry Blossoms in Winter, has roots in those experiences, including the protagonist "Jack" and my marriage to a wonderful Japanese woman.
