About
Jan Yager, the former J.L. (Janet Lee) Barkas, is the author of fifty award-winning nonfiction and fiction books which have been translated into 35 languages. She has a Ph.D. in sociology from The City University of New York and an M.A. in criminal justice from Goddard College Graduate Program. She also did a year of graduate work in art therapy at Hahnemann Medical College and graduate courses in editing and publishing at the NYU publishing program. Dr. Yager's nonfiction titles include eight books on time management - WORK LESS, DO MORE; PUT MORE TIME ON YOUR SIDE; CREATIVE TIME MANAGEMENT FOR THE NEW MILLENNIUM; TIME MANAGEMENT AQND OTHER ESSENTIAL SKILLS FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS; HOW TO FINISH EVERYTHING YOU START; three on friendship including WHEN FRIENDSHIP HURTS and FRIENDSHIFTS; VICTIMS about crime victims; two on work relationships- PRODUCTIVE RELATIONSHIPS; WHO'S THAT SITTING AT MY DESK? - plus three novels -- UNTIMELY DEATH; JUST YOUR EVERYDAY PEOPLE; and THE PRETTY ONE, three illustrated children's books-- THE QUIET DOG; THE CANTALOUPE CAT; and THE READING RABBIT, and more. In addition to writing her own books, Dr. Yager is a ghostwriter and co-author. Jan has been selling foreign rights since she was head of foreign rights at Grove Press, Inc. for a year in her mid-twenties.
