Born and raised In Norfolk, Virginia, I’ve lived in New Orleans, Washington DC, Pasadena, California, Alexandria, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach, Virginia---and the fictional towns that provide the settings for my novels.
I taught English in all of the places I’ve lived and found pieces of the characters who populate my novels in my students and all the wonderful staff I worked. I tend to leave the characteristics of my friends and family private for which they are very grateful.
If I’m not writing, I can be found balancing precariously in a yoga, class, laughing, eating, and reminiscing with my family, searching for signs of porpoises on beaches of the Outer Banks, or walking my dog, Jazzy who bears an uncanny resemblance to dogs in some of my novels.
