About

Tyler Darnell is a Texas-based writer & teacher. He lives with his husband and cat in the city and works to center diversity in his work so children of all kinds can see themselves when they read. Born with cerebral palsy and never seeing himself in stories as a kid, he wrote his own and is excited to share it with the world. He has been a Queer Kidlit Mentee and received multiple scholarships from The Highlights Foundation. He was a panelist at AWP in 2024 for The Anti-Ableist Writing Workshop where he spoke about disability and the writing workshop with other disabled writers & teachers. He hopes to build communities of care through his writing and advocacy.
