About
Matthew Frye-Castillo is a tenured Lecturer of Professional Writing at Lehman College, CUNY, where he directs the Program for Professional Communications and the LGBTQ+ Collective, and teaches courses on writing, entrepreneurship, and queer literature. Born in San Diego and raised in Alaska, his work explores historical erasure, Mixed, Queer, and Latine identities, and the social impact of art; his writing has appeared in Chicken Soup for the Soul, The Anchorage Daily News, Best Gay Stories, and Worn in New York. A cultural organizer and author of "One Headlight: A Memoir," Matthew also consults for B Corporations and Native-owned corporations on executive messaging and content strategy. His creative work has been recognized by the Mellon Foundation, the Hertog Foundation, the Sewanee Writers’ Conference, and The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.
