Eddie and the Vegetarian Vampire

Eddie is a feisty twelve year old living in a Catholic orphanage in Boston in 1944. He has no idea how he wound up in an orphanage. One night Eddie gets the shock of his life when the bat he has been feeding in the basement turns into a vampire, Count Bloodless. The Count is a starving vegetarian, come to Boston ("Beantown") in search of food. Eddie helps the vampire find nourishment and the vampire helps Eddie uncover the secret of his past.
