Eunice Hunton Carter: A Lifelong Fight for Social Justice
This biography tells the story of Eunice Hunton Carter, a pioneering attorney and the only woman and person of color on the team that prosecuted mobster Lucky Luciano in the sensational trial of 1936. This book describes Carter’s many courtroom successes as a prosecutor who also built an international reputation as a pioneering social-justice activist and legal advisor to the United Nations. Her life and the lives of her family resonate today as we celebrate the efforts of many who still work to achieve racial and gender equality.
