About
Amy R. Murrell is from Memphis, TN. She is a licensed clinical psychologist in Tennessee and Texas and has authored approximately 40 academic, peer-reviewed articles and chapters on topics related to psychological science. In addition, she has co-authored an evidenced based self-help book for parents based on acceptance and commitment therapy (The Joy of Parenting; Coyne & Murrell, published by New Harbinger in 2009) and a trauma healing book for parents and children (Connally & Murrell, published by Tif'eret Press in 2023). She is also the author of a six-book picture book series utilizing acceptance and commitment therapy concepts (published by Shawnee Scientific Press, 2017-2021). Amy is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and a number of other writing groups (e.g., Storyteller's Academy). She is passionate about writing that integrates evidence-based psychological science, holistic healing, and creative storytelling.

To Be with Me: A Trauma Healing Book for Parents and Children is an activity book for the healing of trauma through play. This unique hybrid-format book is 35-pages long, with an 8-page children's illustrated short story accompanied by corresponding psychoeducational text and parent-child activities. It also includes back matter with additional activities and a glossary. The intention of this layout is to simultaneously engage parents and children in interactive ways, empower parents with knowledge, and offer opportunities for reparenting particularly in the context of intergenerational trauma.
