About
I am a former NYC teacher who taught in the schools when the arts were encouraged. Teaching writing to a class of mostly immigrants was a special experience, professionally as well as personally.
After leaving teaching I joined SCBWI, became active in critique groups, as well as attending many conferences. My goal is to write books that connect kids to music, the arts, and nature. I’m very interested in the creative process and hope to write more books that will connect kids to their own voice, providing much needed social emotional health in our complicated world.
My first book Birth of the Cool: How Jazz Great Miles Davis Found His Sound was published in April, 2019, geared for ages 8-12.
