About
Christy Wise is author of "Tangible Terrain," poetry chapbook published by Finishing Line Press (2024) and co-author, with Nancy Baker Wise, of "A Mouthful of Rivets: Women at Work in World War II."
Her poems and essays appear in Gramercy Review, Red Flag Poetry, Bayou Magazine, and The Dewdrop, among other magazines. Christy's essay "Memory Book" was designated a notable essay in Best American Essays, 2010.
Christy’s poem “Tony’s Cocoon” was a finalist in the Julia Darling Memorial Poetry Prize. Her poem, “Last Day of Prophecy Season” was a finalist in the San Francisco Writers Contest.
Christy's life work centers around exploring the world, large and small, and writing about it. She values connection with others; the deep-rooted healing of the natural world; and love for family and friends, defined broadly. She walks through life observing and listening. She sits. Listen to bird calls, drinks coffee, feels grateful to be alive.
