About
Melissa Dorval's debut novel, When You Lose Control, is available now on Amazon. Her book reached number 159 on Amazon's City Life Fiction best-seller list.
Additionally, her poems, short stories, and articles have been published in The Offering, The Lowell Connector, The Shirley Volunteer, and The Creative Zine. Her latest short-form essay, Gambling, was featured in the inaugural issue of The Sixpence Society Literary Journal, and her latest poems, Viento Silvestre and Winter Dance Party, 1959, were published in The Quabbin Quills Anthology- Our Wild Winds and in the NDAC winter writing collection- The Long Dark Winter, respectively.
Dorval is one of three founding members of The New Dawn Writers Group in Ashburnham, Massachusetts.
In 2009, Dorval graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Massachusetts - Lowell, where best-selling author, Andre Dubus III, served as her mentor.
When she's not writing, Dorval enjoys reading, sewing, and seeing live music with her boyfriend. She is a nanny to two children and a pet mom to six rescue animals.
