About

Between copyeditor grandparents and bilingual (French-English) film-translator parents, Jenny Brav’s childhood growing up in France was imbued with a love of words and languages. As such, she’s been writing poetry and stories since she was six years old.

While her career has evolved from domestic social work and global humanitarian work, to holistic healing in the Bay Area, writing has always been her way of processing and understanding the world.

“In Sorrow’s Kitchen,” her first novel, is a dual timeline work of upmarket historical fiction that explores all the big themes she’s passionate about: individual/intergenerational/collective trauma, the larger soul journey we are all on, and how the latter can help us heal from the former.

In her spare time, she can be found meditating, hiking in the Redwoods, cooking vegan delicacies, exploring new waterfalls, or cuddling with her chubby calico cat.
