About
Meredith Rutter Marple is my pen name, with Rutter being my legal name and Marple being the name of my deceased husband, who would have loved knowing I'm finally making use of it. I graduated from Tufts U. with a major in zoology but never did pursue science as a career. My professional history includes management in both educational publishing and tradebook publishing. I started down the authoring path in 2009, and it has proven to be an excellent retirement activity - just so long as I don't assume an income large enough to live on.
Featured Work
I Live You For Ever
Drawing from her personal journals during her husband's suffering with mixed dementia (vascular, Alzheimer's, Lewy body), Meredith captures the intimacy of conversations and the daily negotiations of love, anger, denial, and acceptance between partners bound together by decades of shared life. With honesty and compassion, she illuminates the dual tragedy of spousal dementia: the gradual fading of the ill partner and the parallel unraveling—and resilience—of the caregiving partner.
