Meg Medina is an award-winning and New York Times best-selling author who writes picture books, as well as middle grade and young adult fiction. Her works have been called “heartbreaking,” “lyrical” and “must haves for every collection.” She is best known for her ground-breaking 2013 YA novel, Yaqui DelgadoWants to Kick Your Ass, and for her 2019 John D. Newbery medal-winning mg novel, Merci Suárez Changes Gears. Her career includes advocacy for Latino youth and for children's right to read. She lives with her family in Richmond, Va.
