Brazilian-born American writer of mixed race, has a BA from Stanford University and an MFA in fiction from Columbia University. She has attended the Iowa Writer’s Workshop, Skidmore College, and the MFA program at San Francisco State University. Her stories and essays have appeared in various publications, including The Rio Grande Review, Litro Magazine (UK), Pacific Review, and Fiction Fix, where she won a Reader’s Circle Award and Editor’s Choice Award, as well as nominations to the Pushcart Prize and American Best Short Stories. A short story is forthcoming in Arts & Letters (May 2022). Burning Seasons, her unpublished novel written in English, is forthcoming in France in January 2023, under the title “Saisons des feux.” Recently it was sold to Scribe for publication in UK and Australia. U.S. rights are still available.
