About
RENÉE SCHAEFFER is fascinated by technology and where it may lead us, and when she’s not writing, she’s reading the latest speculative science fiction book. She is a self-taught writer who has been found reading her prose at open mic nights in Manhattan. A lifelong New Yorker, she married her childhood sweetheart and raised three happy, successful children. An active philanthropist, she believes in working to make life better for the less fortunate. Ms. Schaeffer enjoys hiking and collecting vintage and modern dolls. Her favorite author’s moment is the time she met famed science fiction writer, Olivia Butler, in a Greenwich Village bakery specializing in goods made by the homeless, and discussed with Ms. Butler the inspirations behind her books. Her first novel, Ageless, is about a woman who lives from 1850 to 2118.

What would you do if your genes betrayed you, isolating you from everyone who ever lived?
Naissa Nolan is a happy child in nineteenth century Philadelphia—until her beloved family is ripped from her while on a Paris holiday. Naissa gradually awakens to what separates her from every other living being and destines her to a life she never imagined. Her journey of self-discovery spans centuries, from her antebellum childhood to the colonization of planets beyond our solar system. Along the way, she witnesses the end of slavery, the first telephone, the industrial and information revolutions, human cloning, global government, and the digitization of human consciousness.
Join Naissa as she finds her first love, true love, and motherhood, but loses all to her immortal enemy, Time. Moving beyond her grief, Naissa becomes the catalyst for a world where she can have the only thing she’s ever wanted: the love of family. But is it enough?
