About
I'm a health and nutrition coach who left a twenty year international culinary marketing communications career to return to my wellness roots. My health journey is a story of earned knowledge, personal failure, and paradox: most health coaches aren’t foodies, and most international culinary marketers don’t have an eating disordered past nor are they competitive athletes.
I'm now on a mission to help reverse the metabolic dysfunction -- (pre)-diabetes, obesity, etc., plaguing the majority of Americans today. Favor Fat is my private health coaching practice and I also work part-time for Virta which is revolutionary in its approach to diabetes reversal. The Nourishment Mindset (place holder title; in contract negotiations) is my debut book and will help me spread the message of how to recover your metabolic health and vitality through real, whole foods.
In addition to being a Nutrition Network Advisor with The Noakes Foundation, I have a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and French from Duke University, a MBA in finance from University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and am a sommelier, certified fitness instructor, avid traveler, and Francophile.
Most of my prior writing stems from my background in PR, where I generated thousands of coverage opportunities for clients: some examples include Forbes, Huffington Post, USA Today, and Robb Report. I am also a former Wines & Vines Magazine columnist.

The Nourishment Mindset (working title)
Eating in America is convenient, mindless and on the verge of divorce from the very pleasure and nourishment it’s meant to engender. The Nourishment Mindset is the culinary intervention we need to heal the metabolic dysfunction plaguing ninety percent of Americans. It exposes the cultural complexities of why we’re sick and practically shows us how to regain health and vitality with quizzes, checklists, shopping lists, and a cheat sheet and pantry sweep. The Nourishment Mindset focuses on sourcing, preparing, and savoring real, whole foods and especially natural fats. Metabolic healing means harmonizing with our body’s primal programming and freeing ourselves from two profitable prisons: ultra-processed food and the dieting racket.
Unfortunately, in the last unfathomable two years our global gut has grown, but there is new hope within. In addition to creating a frightening situation, Covid made us fatter and sicker: the average pandemic weight gain was 29 pounds -- well above the “Covid 19.” People are emerging two to three pant sizes larger somewhere between sheepish and ashamed. They are actually perfectly ripe for an awakening – a new NOT FAT normal.
