Stuart McCafferty is 2021 Gold Winner of the Cleanie Award for Contributor of the Year. He is a technologist, innovator, businessman, distributed energy expert, and climate change warrior. He believes that the Electricity Industry is primed for disruption, can make significant, positive steps towards climate change mitigation, and is up for the task of successfully decarbonizing the electric power grid. His experience includes business and partner development, platform and solution design, IoT interoperability, and practical application of existing and emerging/disruptive technologies.
Mr. McCafferty is an expert in utility IT/OT and the application of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) and microgrids for resilience, economics, and reliability. He has extensive microgrid experience as the VP of EnergyIoT for Hitachi Microgrids and consulting projects with Horizon Power (a Western Australia microgrid utility), Siemens, AlphaStruxure, CapGemini, Envision (a global microgrid developer), 2 Silicon Valley microgrid startups, and San Diego Gas & Electric as a Subject Matter Expert.
Mr. McCafferty is a thought leader in the Internet of Things (IoT) with nearly 100 publications and has been keynote speaker at CTIA’s annual IoT event.
