The Collector, Big Picture Mystery Trilogy
Art expert, Emma Kelly’s, life looks like a masterpiece, but she’s keeping a very big secret.
Emma arrives at the Metropolitan Museum to meet with disgraced philanthropist Boyle York, only to learn he was murdered. His body and a masterpiece are splattered with blue paint. In the following days works of art around the world are attacked with the same paint, which Emma believes refers to the Virgin Mary. Her husband, Elliott Baldwin, the Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s New York City field office, isn’t convinced, but needs her expertise.
She spends the weekend at her home in Bath, England, pursuing her passion of finding the most famous Nazi-looted painting still missing. When a diver hired to explore a sunken Nazi submarine is murdered with the same weapon used to kill Boyle York, Emma wonders if the art crimes on three continents are actually an attempt to trip her up.
Emma races against the clock to countries with Marian apparition sites saving the world’s most beloved artwork. She finally convinces the Vatican to disavow the group and the attacks stop, but the mastermind behind the campaign isn’t nearly through with her.
The adventure continues with The Canvas, May, 2023.
