About

I am a writer, artist and educator. I’ve been a Fulbright Artist/Scholar, an American Association of Museums International Fellow, and recipient of grants from National Endowment for the Arts, the Illinois Arts Council, the College Art Association, and given a TEDx talk at the University of Chicago. "Excavating History" a book of essays about my art projects and exhibitions was released by Stepsister Press.

For the last several years I have been writing fiction. Fiction awards include the Novel Slices award and two Pushcart nominations.. I was a finalist for the Chicago Literary Guild Prose Award, and received an Honorable Mention in the 2019 Pacifica Review Fiction contest. My fiction has appeared in Calyx, New Fairy Tales, the Public Historian, Alimentum, Metafore, Great Lakes Review and other journals, and has been included in the anthologies “Crossing Lines” from MainStreet Rag Press, and “Empty Nests” from Kentucky Stories.
I am thrilled that my first novel: YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOWN will be coming out in Spring 2023, from Crooked Lane Books!
