Amy Cook is an attorney in the Chicago area working with writers, nonprofit organizations and small businesses. She has over 25 years' experience in the publishing industry as an attorney, writer and educator. Services offered include pre-publication manuscript vetting for issues such as defamation, invasion of privacy, rights of publicity, copyright and fair use; publishing contract review; author-agent, co-author, author-illustrator, etc., agreement drafting and review; and registering copyrights and trademarks. Cook writes frequently on legal issues for Writer's Digest magazine and has served as the editor in chief of the Chicago Bar Association magazine, The Record. Cook has served on the board of Lawyers for the Creative Arts and continues as a volunteer.
